Ray BLK, pseudonym of Rita Ekwere is a British singer-songwriter. After releasing music independently and becoming the first unsigned artist to win BBC Sound of The Year in 2017, Ekwere landed a record deal with Island Records in 2018, then released the Empress EP the same year . In 2021 he released the album Access Denied. I wrote this short summary to highlight this artist who caught my interest with her sound rich in hip hop nuances, steeped in rn'b music. The sound is pleasant, full of interesting rn'b, neo soul and soul derivations, all blended by the expert hand of the artist. Dopo aver pubblicato musica da indipendente ed essere diventata la prima artista priva di contratti discografici a vincere il BBC Sound of The Year nel 2017, Ekwere ha ottenuto un contratto discografico con la Island Records nel 2018, per poi pubblicare l'EP Empress nello stesso anno. Nel 2021 ha pubblicato l'album Access Denied. Ho scritto questa breve sintesi per evidenziare questa artista che ha posto il mio interesse con il suo sound ricco di sfumature hip hop,intrise di rn'b music. Gradevole la sonorità ricca di interessanti derivazioni rn'b, neo soul e soul tutto amalgamato dalla sapiente mano dell'artista. Dua Lipa - Houdini (Review)

Houdini is a single by British singer Dua Lipa, released on 10 November 2023 as the first extract from her third studio album. The music video, directed by Emmanuel Cossu, was made available simultaneously with the release of the single. The song highlights how the artist's precedents, not only dance/pop nuances but, specifically 80s dance, which distinguished Dua Lipa from her other colleagues in the musical panorama. The choreography itself is very simple but, at the same time, quite intense which follows the rhythms of the song with truly impeccable synchrony. The artist also "wonders if someone is really worth considering or if, in the end, you will regret it. You never know where something will take you, that's the beauty of being open to anything in life propose to you." In fact, life is also this, what can I say? Houdini è un singolo della cantante britannica Dua Lipa, pubblicato il 10 novembre 2023 come primo estratto dal terzo album in studio. Il video musicale, diretto da Emmanuel Cossu, è stato reso disponibile in contemporanea con l'uscita del singolo. Il brano evidenzia come i precedenti dell'artista, non solo sfumaturure dance/pop ma, nello specifico dance anni 80, che hanno distinto Dua Lipa dagli altri suo colleghi nel panorama musicale. La coreografia in se molto semplice ma, nello stesso tempo abbastanza intensa che segue i ritmi del brano con una sincronia davvero impeccabile. L'artista, inoltre, "si chiede se qualcuno valga davvero la pena di essere preso in considerazione o se, alla fine, ci si pentirà. Non sai mai dove ti porterà qualcosa, questo è il bello di essere aperti a qualsiasi cosa la vita ti proponga". In effetti la vita è anche questo, che dire? Intanto buon ascolto e da parte mia sono impaziente di sentire gli altri brani, alla prossima..
